What You’ll Do

  • Job Overview

    • The Senior Designer is responsible for conceptualizing and creating innovative denim designs that align with market trends and client expectations. This role requires a deep understanding of fabric, fit washes, and trims to develop commercially successful denim collections. The Senior Designer also collaborates with merchandising, production, and marketing teams to ensure the designs align with production capabilities and business goals.


  • Key Responsibilities
    1. Design and Development
      • Create original and innovative designs for denim garments, including jeans, jackets, shirts, skirts and shorts.
      • Research global fashion trends, market demands, and competitor products to inspire new collections.
      • Develop sketches, CADs, and technical specifications for new designs.
      • Select appropriate fabrics, washes, trims, and finishes for each product.
    2. Trends Analysis and Inspiration
      • Analyze seasonal trends, colors, and styles to develop trend-forward collections.
      • Attend trade shows, fashion weeks, and market visits to gain insights into emerging trends.
      • Maintain a library of design inspiration, including mood boards, fabric swatches, and wash samples.
    3. Sample Development
      • Work closely with the sampling team to ensure accurate translation of designs into physical samples.
      • Review and approve prototypes, ensuring they meet design intent and quality standards.
      • Collaborate with the wash and finishing team to develop unique and commercially viable washes.
    4. Buyer Collaboration
      • Collaborate with buyers and clients to understand their requirements and incorporate them into designs.
      • Present design concepts, collections, and samples to buyers for feedback and approval.
      • Modify designs based on buyer feedback while maintaining creativity and quality.
    5. Production Support
      • Work with production teams to ensure designs are practical and cost-effective for large scale manufacturing.
      • Provide technical guidance to ensure the accurate execution of designs during bulk production.
      • Address design-related issues during production and provide solutions.
    6. Team Leadership and Collaboration
      • Mentor and guide juniors designer, ensuring consistency and innovation in design outputs.
      • Collaborate with merchandising, and marketing teams to align design strategies with business goals.
      • Foster a culture of creativity and innovation within the design team.
    7. Documentation and Reporting
      • Maintain detailed records of design specification, tech packs, and samples.
      • Generate regular reports on design progress, sample status, and buyer feedback.
      • Update design libraries with new fabrics, washes, and trims.
    8. Sustainability and Innovation
      • Incorporate sustainable practices in design, including the use of eco-friendly fabrics, washes, and processes.
      • Explore new technologies and techniques to improve design quality and production efficiency.
      • Stay updated on innovations in denim manufacturing, such as laser washes or digital printing.

    What You’ll Bring

    1. Education
      • Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Textile Design, or a related field.
    2. Experiences
      • Minimum 7+ years of experience in denim design, with at least 3 years in a senior role.
      • Proven portfolio showcasing innovative denim designs and successful buyer collaborations.
    3. Technical Skills
      • Strong knowledge of denim fabrics, washes, treatments, and garment construction.
      • Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and CLO 3D.
      • Ability to create detailed tech packs and specifications for production.
    4. Soft Skills
      • Excellent communication and presentation skills for buyer interactions.
      • Strong leadership abilities to guide and mentor junior designers.
      • Creativity, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
