What to Expect

In the espitex denim industry, a Merchant plays a pivotal role in managing the product lifecycle from inception to delivery.

What You’ll Do

  • Product Development: Collaborating with designers and product development teams to conceptualize and develop new denim garments based on market trends, customer preferences, and brand requirements.
  • Sourcing and Procurement: Identifying and sourcing raw material such as denim fabric, trims, and accessories from suppliers, negotiating price, terms, and ensuring timely delivery to meet production schedules.
  • Costing and Pricing: Conducting cost analysis for denim garments, including fabric, trims, labor, and overhead cost, to determine competitive pricing strategies that align with market demands and profit margins.
  • Order Management: Managing the entire order process from order placement to delivery, including order tracking, ensuring on-time production, resolving any issues that may arise during production, and coordinating with internal teams and external suppliers.
  • Production Planning and Coordination: Collaborating with production teams, including industrial engineers and factory managers, to plan and schedule production based on order requirements, capacity, and lead times.
  • Client Relationship Management: Building and maintaining strong relationships with key clients, buyers, and stakeholders. Acting as a primary point of contact for major accounts, understanding their needs, and ensuring their expectation are met or exceeded.
  • Financial Analysis and Reporting: Monitoring sales performance, profitability, and other key financial metrics related to denim products. Preparing financial reports, forecasts, and budgets to support decision-making and strategic planning.

What You’ll Bring

  • 4 to 10 years proven experiences on woven- denim garments industry.
  • Required education- graduation in BBA, Textile Eng, IPE or related subjects
  • Proven English communication skill.
  • Able to work well under pressure while managing competing demands and tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and other relevant software applications used in order and client management.
